‘Urge parties to refrain from violent actions’: US on communal tension in Haryana

 Calling for calm, the United States Wednesday urged parties involved in clashes in Haryana to refrain from violent actions and said that no American has been affected in the fighting.He added that he was not aware if any US citizens have been impacted by the clashes, adding that he will follow up with the embassy on the issue. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller made the statement during a routine press briefing on August 2. When asked to comment on the “Hindu-Muslim clashes in the region”, Miller said: “I would say – with respect to the clashes that obviously we would, as always, urge calm and urge parties to refrain from violent actions.” Six people were killed and several others injured in communal clashes in Haryana this week. The  clashes began Monday during a rally by the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Nuh. On Tuesday, a mob allegedly burnt down a mosque in Gurgaon and killed a naib imam.
